Small Wins That Add Up to Big Independence

Buttons done up alone. A first day without a meltdown. A pencil that finally feels right in the hand. These are the moments OT is built for.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy isn't about fixing your child it's about closing the gap between what a task demands and what currently feels hard. We work on the fine motor control, sensory regulation and daily living skills that turn 'I can't' into 'I've got this,' one small, real-world win at a time.

Why Families Choose Us for Occupational Therapy

Why Choose Thrive Kids

Every child on our OT caseload is under 18 full stop. That single decision shapes everything: the toys in the room, the language we use, the way we explain sensory overload to a five-year-old versus a twelve-year-old. We're not squeezing paediatric appointments between stroke rehab and workplace injuries. And because we're based right in Smithfield, we already know the schools, the uniforms, the playgrounds your child navigates every day so strategies are built for their actual world, not a generic one.

Is This the Right Support?

Who This is For

If everyday tasks dressing, writing, eating, playing take more effort or cause more distress than they seem to for other kids, OT gives your family a practical toolkit rather than more advice to muddle through alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

  • My child doesn't have a diagnosis - can we still start?

Absolutely. Most families start OT because something feels harder than it should, long before any diagnosis is on the table. The Early Childhood Approach supports exactly this.

  • How do you know it's working?

We set specific, observable goals at the start — so 'progress' isn't a feeling, it's something you can point to.

  • Will you write reports for school or our NDIS plan review?

Yes — we can provide progress reports to support school planning and NDIS plan reviews whenever you need them.

  • Do you offer home visits or only in-clinic sessions?

Sessions are primarily run from our Smithfield and Guildford clinics — get in touch and we can talk through what best suits your family.
